As we close another successful year of Together Wee Can , let’s look back at all the wonderful areas our Providers and Children engaged in. Our theme for 2014 was “CELEBRATE SPECIAL CHILDREN”, a concept that fit perfectly to commemorate our special Wee Watch milestone of celebrating 30 years of quality care. It provided a wide variety of age appropriate activities that fostered each child’s individuality, their uniqueness as they played and learned each day in their Provider’s home.
Some specific activities included “I am Creative” which promoted development in the areas of emotional, social, physical, language and literacy and cognitive learning. Providers set up their play area full of adventures where children were offered the opportunity to play freely and be creative through building, singing, acting and socializing with their group of wee ones. Another popular activity included “I can make friends” which encouraged children to form friendships by learning to wait, sharing toys, taking turns and cooperation with their peers. The “I can do it myself” activity provided opportunity for the provider to help children become independent by allowing and encouraging them to take responsibility for themselves wherever possible.
We are so thankful for being given the opportunity to see your child grow and learn in 2014 and look forward to another year filled with new experiences and achievements as we roll out a new theme for Together Wee Can – “Celebrates Pan-Amania 2015. Stay tuned for the launch of this exciting program your children will soon experience.
