Wee Watch Home Visitors are Early Childhood Educators that are registered and approved by the Ministry of Education. Through their unannounced visit at the Provider’s home, the Home Visitor monitors on a monthly basis to ensure all homes meet or exceed the Day Nurseries regulations. During their visit, the Home Visitor screens to ensure that the Provider is supplying nutritious meals and a safe and stimulating program of activities for the children – creative, fine & gross motor, cognitive, etc., based on their ages/stages of development. On each visit, the Home Visitor spends time in discussion with the Provider – about the children in her care, childcare/child development issues, programming, scheduling etc. Home Visitors also spend time observing and /or interacting with the children – doing an activity she brings along, reading a story, singing a song, or playing with toys in the home. This allows the Home Visitor to assess if the children are receiving a variety of stimulating activities.
